TikTok Shop Performance Score: A Brand Affiliate Eligibility Guide

One number decides whether your creator program lives or dies. Under TikTok Shop eligibility rules, a Shop Performance Score (SPS) below 3.0 can pause affiliate collaborations and campaign access. Most brands only check it after something breaks.

This playbook explains what the score measures, which thresholds matter, and how to build an operating routine that protects your creator spend.

    What the score actually is

SPS runs from 0 to 5. Per PPC Land’s breakdown of TikTok’s documentation, sellers receive a score automatically once they have delivered at least 30 orders (excluding fake, sample, or gift orders) within the preceding 90 calendar days. Below that, you hold no score at all.

That “null” state matters. Newer shops without a score are not locked out of everything. TikTok’s own Campaign FAQs say a shop without an SPS can still qualify for campaigns if it has fewer than 3 serious violations in the last 30 days.

The score rests on three dimensions: product satisfaction, fulfillment and logistics, and customer service. Each is built from two metrics, so six inputs in total.

    • Negative Review Rate: initial one- or two-star reviews on delivered orders in the last 60 days.
    • Non-Buyer Fault Return and Refund Rate: returns and refunds caused by the seller or a logistics partner, such as damaged packaging.
    • Seller Fault Cancellation Rate: cancellations from stockouts, late shipping, and pricing errors.
    • On-Time Delivery Rate: orders delivered by the deliver-by date.
    • IM Dissatisfaction Rate: low post-chat survey ratings.
    • After-Sales Handling Time: how fast you process refunds, returns, cancellations, and replacements.

One nuance catches brands out. Metrics are normalized against your bestselling category over the last 90 days, so identical raw numbers can score differently depending on where you compete.

The thresholds that gate your creator budget

Think of the score as a ladder, where each rung is cumulative. PPC Land reports four levels: 2.5, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5.

    • 2.5: eligibility to launch Flash Deals, plus an estimated visibility lift in search and recommendations, according to PPC Land (10% at this tier). TikTok describes that lift as an estimate from historical data, not a guarantee.
    • 3.5: Affiliate Marketing, campaigns, and accelerated settlement (5 days instead of the standard 8), with an estimated visibility lift of 20% per PPC Land.
    • 4.0: Express Settlement (1 day after delivery) and Star Seller badges.
    • 4.5: an estimated visibility increase of 30% via search and recommendations, stacking on the 3.5 tier, PPC Land reports.

The gap that hurts most is 3.0 to 3.5. TikTok says affiliate qualification starts at 3.5, but a shop that slips under 3.0 can lose active collaborations entirely.

TikTok’s Affiliate Marketing Policy sets the disqualification rules in plain terms. A shop may be disqualified if its SPS falls below 3.0, evaluation happens daily, and active collaborations may be terminated. Campaigns follow the same logic: you need 3.5 to enroll, and the Campaign FAQs say you must hold 3.0 to remain enrolled.

    Where brands get blindsided

Why does a healthy brand suddenly lose its affiliate access? Usually because the score is a trailing average with recency weighting. According to PPC Land, an order delivered 16 to 30 days ago carries 70% weight, so a bad fulfillment fortnight bleeds into your score weeks later.

Picture a brand that seeds 200 creators ahead of a launch. Demand spikes, the warehouse runs short, and cancellations climb. Creators keep posting while your Seller Fault Cancellation Rate sinks the score. Then the affiliate plans pause mid-flight and you are paying for content that cannot convert.

    Two traps deserve a mention:

    • Stockouts count as seller fault. Running out of inventory after a viral video is a scoring event, not just a lost sale.
    • Product-level checks sit on top. Shop qualification does not guarantee every product is enrolled. The Affiliate Marketing Policy also evaluates each product, including its Voice of Customer index against category averages and a clean record on IP and review violations.

    A weekly operating routine

    1. Check Account Health every Monday. SPS lives in Seller Center under Account Health. Log the score and all six metrics so you spot drift before a threshold.
    2. Set an internal floor at 3.7. This is my working rule, not a TikTok number. A buffer above 3.5 gives you room to react before creator plans are touched.
    3. Tie creator volume to inventory. Do not approve new sample requests or boost a creator’s video unless you hold stock to match.
    4. Audit shipping SLAs. Late dispatch also matters elsewhere: the Campaign FAQs require a Late Dispatch Rate of 20% or lower over the last 30 days.
    5. Fix chat response quality. IM dissatisfaction is the easiest metric to improve and the most often ignored.

    Creators have a score too

Your side is only half the equation. Per the Affiliate Marketing Policy, creators promoting products in designated categories need a Promotion Performance Score of 3.5 or higher, a Creator Health Rating of 150 or higher, a sales track record, and consistently strong content. If they miss the bar, their attempts to add your products may be declined.

So vet both sides. Our guides on livestream casting rules and LIVE host thresholds cover the creator side in detail. If you are weighing paid amplification on top, see the Spark Ads budget tiers. And because pricing errors feed cancellations, a pricing audit is worth running too.

    FAQs

What Shop Performance Score do I need for TikTok Shop affiliate marketing?

You need an SPS of 3.5 or above to qualify, according to TikTok’s Affiliate Marketing Policy. Individual products are evaluated separately, so shop qualification alone does not enroll every product.

What happens if my SPS drops below 3.0?

Your shop may be disqualified from Affiliate Marketing, and active collaborations may be terminated. Campaign benefits can also be revoked. Regaining access requires climbing back to 3.5.

How many orders do I need before I get a score?

At least 30 delivered orders in the past 90 calendar days, excluding fake, sample, and gift orders. Until then, you have no score.

How often is the score evaluated?

TikTok evaluates shop performance daily for affiliate disqualification. The score itself is based on a rolling window, with newer orders weighted more heavily.

Can a new shop run campaigns without a score?

Yes, in some cases. TikTok’s Campaign FAQs say shops without an SPS can be permitted if they have fewer than 3 serious violations in the last 30 days.

Do creators need a minimum score as well?

Yes. For designated categories, creators need a Promotion Performance Score of 3.5 or higher and a Creator Health Rating of 150 or higher, among other factors.

Open Seller Center today, record your SPS and six metrics, and set a 3.7 internal alert so you act before a creator plan pauses.
